If you’re an expert selling low-ticket products and services in hopes of turning those buyers into high-paying clients you need to STOP!
Stop and think what it’s costing you when you give away your expertise for pennies on the dollar…
And it’s not just monetary. It goes much deeper than that.
Let’s look at just a few of rarely discussed problems that come with selling low-ticket products…
Time Vampires – Selling low-ticket products typically requires you to create an entire sales funnel to go with it.
And this is VERY time consuming. You have to create the products (front-end, up-sells, down-sells). Plus you have to build the web pages, sales copy, video sales letters, multiple email follow-up sequences, set up your merchant account, your members area, etc., etc.. Wow, I’m tired just thing about it!
Uncertainty – Doing all this takes time. And a LOT of it. And every minute you spend doing all this is time spent on a hunch.
Hoping that the marketplace will like what it is you have to offer and actually buy it. And that my friend is a crap shoot. Yes, it may get better (if you’re lucky) through a shit-ton of split-testing and paid traffic. But that’s if you’re lucky. Ouch!
Self-Worth – If you’re discounting your products and services you’re discounting your value!
People don’t value shit that they get for free. They value what they pay for. And the more they pay for it, the more they pay attention to it.
Poor Results – How many ebooks and special reports (AKA “Tripwires”) do you have sitting on your hard drive that you’ve never opened up?
Now ask yourself this, when was the last time you invested say $5,000 on something and never looked at it? I’m guessing never. Am I right?
The same goes for your customers. The more they invest in themselves, through you and your products and services, the more action they will take, and the better the RESULTS they are going to get.
So price your value according to the results your customers and clients will get from investing in you and help them understand that if they truly want to get ahead, they need to get some skin in the game!
(Read that last sentence again).
Overwhelm – Most information marketers are on a never-ending treadmill. They create a new product, then they create the entire sales funnels, and then they go through that entire launch process over and over and over again. Rise, repeat. Rise, repeat. Rise, repeat.
This my friend is a sure-fire way to burn yourself out FAST!
Frustration – But let’s just say your launch went well and you sold 2,000 new widgets at $10 a piece. Congratulations, now you have 2,000 potential new headaches to deal with!
Now I know that may sound awful referring to you customers as headaches but the truth is, many low-ticket buyers are just that – a headache!
Ninety percent of them want to know what their password is and how to log in. Are you kidding me? THEY created the dam password!
And then there’s all those serial refunders. Whiners complaining that the life-changing information that you gave them was not worth their $10 bucks (only because they where never committed to taking any action from the get go). Now THAT is insulting!
You see, low-ticket buyers are typically just not very committed to their own success. In fact, they would usually prefer to hold YOU responsible for that. Which is why…
They Rarely Take Action – Like I already said, the more people invest in something, the more they value it. And for that reason alone, 95% of your low-ticket buyers will never even look at your product; yet expect it to be the answer to all his problems.
If you’re customers don’t consume your product and take action, they will never get a result. And if they never get a result, you will never get positive feedback and testimonials.
Little or No Profit – Now as if all that wasn’t enough, let’s talk money. In order to make sales you need to have eyeballs on your offer. Which means you need to pay for traffic. And with CPCs over a buck a piece, you need to be a dam good copywriter to convert enough of that traffic into buyers just to break even.
Or maybe you rely on affiliate traffic. Well, if that’s the case then you know that commission payouts are typically at 90-100% on front end offers. Yes you may make a few up-sells but again, that’s if you have some awesome sales copy and a strategic follow-up series in place.
Are you starting to see the problems here?
I mean I could go on and on. And the reason for that is I was right there for over 10 YEARS doing nothing but selling low-ticket products in HOPES of making bigger back-end sales.
And I’ll tell you from experience (a lot of it) that the vast majority of your low-ticket customers will never buy your upsells.
Ask yourself this, how many “How To” books have you purchased (and actually read) that lead you to hiring a coach or attending an expensive workshop. Chances are, few if any.
So listen, here’s an idea for you…
If you’re sick and tied of working your ass off practically giving away your expertise only to find your customers rarely take action while you only make a pittance in return, STOP doing it.
There is a much better way for you to run your business.
